A group of leading DeFi developers and security experts has launched Web3SOC, a new security and compliance framework aimed at boosting organizations' confidence in decentralized finance. Announced on Friday, this initiative has contributions from teams such as Uniswap Labs, Morpho, Maple Finance, Kiln, and Steakhouse Financial, along with cybersecurity companies Cantina and Secureum.

Web3SOC — short for "Web3 System and Organizational Controls" — provides a classification framework for Web3 applications, aimed at improving transparency, security, and collaborative governance. This framework will become the standard reference for best practices in smart contract development and governance processes. The launch of Web3SOC marks an effort to professionalize the DeFi infrastructure, making it more reliable for investors and regulators.
