Cosmos Hub has suspended plans to launch the EVM platform.
On July 16, Cosmos shared its product updates and future plans for this year on platform X. The team stated that it will pause the plan to launch an EVM platform on the Cosmos Hub and will reassess the related path, but will continue to invest in the Cosmos EVM L1 stack to support builders in launching autonomous EVM chains. The team referred to the EVM plan as providing a hopeful and unique role for the Hub in the Cosmos ecosystem. Future upgrades to the Virtual Machine (VM) or Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) may still unlock new services or onboarding pathways, so the team is willing to revisit this approach while continuously understanding the needs of institutions and L1 builders.
