Co-founder of YouTube backs \"cat memecoin\" PAJAMAS
YouTube co-founder Steve Chen has announced his participation in the development of the memecoin Pajamas (PAJAMAS). This memecoin is inspired by a video of a cat that he himself filmed 20 years ago and currently has a market capitalization of over 30 million USD.

Steve Chen, co-founder of YouTube and former CTO of the leading video sharing platform, has publicly endorsed the memecoin Pajamas (PAJAMAS). This memecoin was launched in March 2024 on Layer-1 Solana, amidst Solana's surge in transaction volume with the memecoin frenzy.
Memecoin Pajamas (PAJAMAS) is inspired by the first cat video uploaded to YouTube in 2005, featuring Mr. Pajamas playing around to Nick Drake's music. The idea originated from a post in 2022, where the owner pondered what to do with the first cat video on YouTube. On 11/03/2024, he re-posted that tweet and attached the name of this memecoin as an answer.
He also added that the Pajamas (PAJAMAS) token is the only token he holds, apart from SOL.
According to Cointelegraph, Steve Chen, with an estimated net worth of over 1 billion USD, revealed that he spends about 80 to 100 hours per week on the development of the memecoin Pajamas (PAJAMAS). However, this project is just one of many that he invests in the technology sector, including an AI-based exchange trading fund and several tech startups based in Taiwan.
Pajamas, the cat that was once the inspiration for the project, is no longer present as the video was recorded 20 years ago. Kabosu, the famous Shiba Inu dog that became the mascot for Dogecoin (DOGE) and many other dog meme coins, has also passed away on 24/05.
Token Pajamas (PAJAMAS) with a market capitalization of 34 million USD is currently trading at around 0.034 USD, witnessing an almost doubling increase from before this information was released.
